Just two years ago, Colton Dixon couldn't have imagined where God would lead him. After following his sister, Schyler, to an audition of American Idol® on the show's eleventh season, the judge's implored him to audition as well. Both he and his sister received the golden tickets to the next round. Schyler's run would end there as Colton moved on to the live performances, which broke his heart. But he would dedicate his performances to his sister, and wound up being the top male vote-getter, managing to make it into the top 10 and a favorite to win. He was often very outspoken about his faith on the show, and on his Twitter feeds during the show, although it made some of the producers of the show uncomfortable. His run would end abruptly in an elimination that shocked the judges.

But his exposure on the show granted him the opportunity to continue his dream, and was soon picked up to record an album, and tour with Third Day, tobyMac, and others across the country. His first album "The Messenger" was released shortly after in January of 2013, and his brand new album "Anchors" comes out August 19th featuring his latest hit "More Of You." He says the song is about "God's desire to fill us up with the full potential of His love and power, but we have to make room for Him. We have to empty our cup daily." Colton Dixon will be at DC Fest August 16th at the Patriot Center.
