New Music: Jamie Kimmett - Prize Worth Fighting For

Jamie is a brand new artist that hails from Kilmarnock, Scotland. And to be honest, music was not something he dreamed of doing growing up. He was a pretty decent soccer player that was even scouted by professional clubs like Scottish champions Celtic FC. Faith wasn't really a part of his upbringing, either. On his 16th birthday he was given a guitar from his dad eventually entering into the town's Pop Idol contest...and won! It was this newfound love of music that helped him decide to not pursue soccer.

He ended up moving to L.A. and began working with some of the top producers in the industry like (let's name drop shall we?) Randy Jackson, Babyface, Steve Porcaro, even sang backup for Michael Jackson. After a number of years of friends asking him to go to church with him, he finally gave in and attended the Dream Center, and he says it was the first time he saw faith in Jesus as making a difference in the world. It changed his prejudices and presuppositions he'd developed about religion.

Long story short, he was offered a major record label deal--and turned it down--after God had spoken through His Word! Feeling led, he began writing music for God, and decided it wasn't about the money, but about God's promise to take care of him.
