The Beijing Guitar Duo will perform at this concert. This duo is composed of Meng Su and Yameng Wang. Both won a string of awards at international guitar competitions before they became adults. They met at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing where they studied classical guitar with Chen Zhi, one of China’s most acclaimed professors. With encouragement from noted Cuban guitarist Manuel Barrueco, they formed the Beijing Guitar Duo in 2008 while pursuing advanced studies at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
