From Jerry:  The Lake Anne Cardboard Regatta  

This event looks like so much fun. The Lake Anne Carboard Boat Regatta in Reston is a chance for the city to show off its sense of fun and wackiness.  This family friendly event invites people of all ages to build a full-size boat out of cardboard and then sale it.   Every team builds and decorates their own cardboard boat.  Then they launch those boats and race their way out to a buoy and back to the dock before the boats sink.  All the money raised from the entries into the event go to support the Reston Museum.  The event is free and it starts at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow at the docks at Lake Anne Plaza.  Registration has closed to be in the event, but there is still plenty of room for spectators to cheer the boat makers on.  You can find out all of the details and watch a video of a previous event at this link.
