Managing headaches

Everyone gets headaches from time to time. It may be a mild throbbing that’s just a nuisance or an intense pain that keeps you from activities you enjoy and tasks you need to complete.

It’s estimated that there are nearly 150 types of headaches, but the most common include

  • Tension headaches

  • Migraine headaches

  • Cluster headaches

  • Chronic daily headaches

  • Sinus headaches

     

    Find relief from your headaches with these effective remedies

     

  • Use a cold pack or washcloth for 15 minutes, or take a cold,

  • Place a heating pad along the back of your neck or head.

  • Dim the lights, including the lights on your computer or phone.

  • Relax with simple techniques like gentle stretching, deep breaths and meditation.

  • Massage your neck and temples to help ease tension.

  • Take over-the-counter pain medicine, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.

     

    You can also help prevent some headaches with a few simple steps
