Jesus takes front and center at CMAs
Carrie Underwood sang a song on TV at this year's Country Music Awards that many of us grew up hearing in church. It was a very moving rendition of the hymn "Softly and Tenderly" to honor those who passed this year in country music, culminating in a tribute to the Las Vegas shooting victims. She started the segment saying: “This has been a year marked by tragedy, impacting countless lives including so many in our country music family. So tonight, we’re going to do what families do: come together, pray together, cry together, and sing together, too."
The moment was so deeply touching that even the singer couldn't make it through without breaking down. A reminder to me that our nation is hurting and searching, and that God is the ultimate healer and protector when we're vulnerable and scared. You may want to have a tissue handy for this one.
