Saturday, June 1st something incredible is happening on the National Mall and you can be a part of it. The Museum of the Bible is going to unfold the world’s longest picture Bible on the National Mall. The Bible is the work of Willy Wiedmann, an German artist who spent 16 years creating a visual narrative of a Bible that includes 3,333 images and is nearly one mile long. Museum of the Bible is rallying volunteers from all over to help us with this historic 1st unveiling in the United States. Every participant will receive a voucher for one day’s free admission to the museum and an event t-shirt. We are looking for at least 700 people to pull this off! You can come out with your family, community group, congregation or random group of strangers to help. Check out all the info on this history-making event here
If you know me, you know I have the "need for speed" (lol) so riding roller coasters in the summer is one of my favorite things to do with my family in the summer! Six Flags is one of the closest theme parks we have in the DMV and it is now officially open for the summer. Weekdays are the best time to go to avoid the crazy long lines in the hot summer sun. Also, the season pass is a great investment if you're planning on going more than once this year. Click here for more information.
Here is my weekend pick. Last year OUR Washington Mystics got to the WNBA finals for the first time in their 21-year history. They are back Saturday to open their new home ( Entertainment and Sports Arena) in Congress Heights. They will be taking on the Atlanta Dream at 7pm. Before the game there will be a block party with live music, food and basketball clinics. That goes on 2PM-6:30PM. GO Mystics!!! Click here for more information
