Wreath Laying at Arlington Cemetery
You’ve probably seen the pictures of wreaths on every gravestone at Arlington National Cemetery. It’s an age old tradition to honor those who’ve protected our freedom. You may not know that the tradition starts in Maine. On December 11th a convoy of tractors trailers will leave from Maine and make their way down the East Coast to Arlington National Cemetery on December 18th. Then on that day scores of volunteers lay a wreath on each grave. That’s a tall order because there are over 247-thousand markers in Arlington. And by the way, if you’d like to volunteer to lay wreaths you have to sign up in advance before December 18th. You can sign up to volunteer at https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/.
