meet the personalities
Jerry Woods
I’ve always loved people. From the time I was a little boy doing cartwheels at the gas station to being the social vice-president of my high school, I always wanted to be around a lot of people. I guess that’s why I ended up in radio. I spend five hours every morning with a couple of my really good friends and we get to talk about life in Washington DC, faith our families and the other things that make us who were are.
I grew up in Southern California, and I still think of a perfect day as a clear day on the beach or a crisp day on the mountain ski slopes. I love living in DC because I’ve always loved history. Here in DC rather than just read about it, we can go see it. For many of my friends who grew up here, they tend to take it for granted. I’ve lived here four years, and I still get a thrill driving down Pennsylvania Avenue and seeing the capitol dome in the distance.
My best days are spent with my beautiful wife Crystal, whom I met on a cruise in Mexico, but that’s a story for another day. I also have two little girls who are the little lights of my life. We love to travel and try new things, especially food. It’s true that I have never met an ice cream cone that I don’t like.
WGTS 91.9 is a special place because it’s not just a workplace. It’s a group of people dedicated to making our community a better place to live by spreading messages of hope and encouragement. I walk away from work every day knowing that what I get to do matters, and that’s a good feeling.
