(Undated) -- If you have ever dreamed of becoming a T-S-A officer, now you have your chance. The Transportation Security Administration plans to hire 6,000 officers nationwide. Around 100 of those position will be hired locally at Reagan and Dulles Airports. Air travel is expected to jump a lot as more Americans get vaccinated. (Waldorf, MD) -- Southern Maryland will soon have a COVID vaccination site ran by federal officials. FEMA has announced their plans to support the new site. It will operate at Regency Furniture Stadium in Charles County as it becomes the state's fourth mass vaccination site. Officials say they plan to open the center in early March. Governor Larry Hogan says the new Johnson-and-Johnson vaccine is expected in Maryland by early next week. This will be the first single-dose vaccine in the U.S.
(Washington, DC) -- If you’re someone who is a senior citizen or you have a disability, you can get an exemption from shoveling snow off of your sidewalk. The D.C. Department of Public Works has started a special program for those who are over 65 or have a disability. Right now the law says your sidewalk has to be clear within eight hours of a snowstorm. Now you can apply for a two-year exemption that goes through December 20222. The deadline to apply is on Sunday, and you can take care of this by visiting d-p-w-dot-dc-dot-gov.
