More Virginians will now be able to get the coronavirus vaccine

The Department of Health has expanded Phase 1-B to people between the ages of 16-to-64 with chronic medical conditions. This is for frontline essential workers and retail pharmacy partners. Eligible residents can pre-register for the vaccine by signing up at vaccinate-dot-virginia-dot-gov or by calling 877-VAX-IN-VA.

You can get an exemption from shoveling snow off of your sidewalk if you are older or disabled

(Washington, DC) -- If you’re someone who is a senior citizen or you have a disability, you can get an exemption from shoveling snow off of your sidewalk. The D.C. Department of Public Works has started a special program for those who are over 65 or have a disability. Right now the law says your sidewalk has to be clear within eight hours of a snowstorm. Now you can apply for a two-year exemption that goes through December 20222. The deadline to apply is on Sunday, and you can take care of this by visiting d-p-w-dot-dc-dot-gov.
