They are subjects that often don't get talked about, yet they have affected us all in one way or another. The subjects are depression and suicide. And while they are certainly not topics for frivolous conversation, the brothers of for King & Country have tackled this head-on in their latest song "God Only Knows," by expressing "there's a kind of love that God only knows."

It's a message that has really connected with people, all going through their own struggles. In reading the comments on their YouTube video, you can discover the impact it's already having, including this one viewer who said:

"I was sitting here contemplating suicide because I've had a pretty rough couple of weeks and this song popped upon my feed. This song has officially changed my life."

This video tells the story of a young woman (played by actress Masey McLain) who finds herself in the darkest despair and believes suicide is the only way out.

"Circumstantially things are good, she's an attractive woman, she lives in a beautiful home, and life is sort of looking good. Yet there are these things...that are shifting the way she perceives life and people perceive her," explains bandmate Joel Smallbone.

Then, you see her standing on a bridge, and deciding to jump. BUT, it doesn't end there. They reverse the events that led her to making that decision, and illustrate what could have happened if a friend she encountered that evening would have shown her kindness. And that kindness results in a different outcome to her day.

Joel says, "The power of someone interacting, showing a small act of kindness, a hug, a smile, and how that just changes the trajectory of her life [on] this particular day."

For King & Country says they're working to help change the culture of despair by encouraging others to be a glimmer of hope for someone else.
